Having encountered a lot of staplers claiming to have high capacities, well over 20 sheets, I was skeptical buying this. It turns out it will do its claimed 40-sheet capacity 100% of the time. Be sure to use the Swingline Optima staples with it. They don't come with much of a price premium at all.
Regarding the review complaining about the staple capacity of this stapler, clearly the reviewer is using some other brand of staples, because the Swingline Optima staples come in sticks that fit in this stapler. There's not much point in buying a premium stapler and running cheap store-brand staples through it.
One last thing here, as I discovered the first few times I used it: Make sure you finish squeezing it shut after it clunks the staple through, or you'll have staples that aren't completely clinched down! It doesn't take much effort, but it's not the most obvious thing to do either, because it kind of feels like it's "finished" after the big clunk.

I had, for the longest time, used a cheap stapler and got tired of all the jamming and the staples not going all the way through. This stapler is great. Minimal effort, and a high sheet capacity for just over $20.
My only complaint is the same as Aus Texan (http://www.amazon.com/review/R3K75AYTONFLYK/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8;ASIN=B004DMCVBW;nodeID=;tag=;linkCode=). I ordered the Swingline Optima staples to match, but the whole row won't fit. If you read the review by Canadian P. Nienaber, clearly they didn't read Aus Texan's full review, or they would have seen that Tex bought the Swingline premium staples. Besides that one gripe though, this stapler is great.
